The Wool Rug – Zula Mint features a soft, fresh tone that brings lightness to any interior. The mint shade pairs effortlessly with light woods, white walls, and natural accents, while also creating a refined contrast with darker elements. This balance makes the rug ideal for those seeking a bright atmosphere without compromising on style and character.

Every fiber of this wool rug is handwoven on a traditional handloom — a craft technique in which skilled artisans work on a manually operated loom. This results in an authentic texture full of subtle nuances that you won’t find in machine-made carpets. The combination of wool with 30% cotton provides a firm yet comfortable foundation that retains its shape and ensures long-lasting quality. Thanks to the natural properties of wool — temperature and moisture regulating — this rug also contributes to a pleasant indoor climate.

Place it beside a low armchair, under a round table, or freely in the room: Zula Mint brings calm, rhythm, and structure. A wool rug that doesn’t need styling, but blends effortlessly into the interior. Timeless in appearance, made to be enjoyed for years to come. Suitable for underfloor heating, enhancing comfort in every season.

Material

Material

Wool

Sheep's wool is the basis of this rug, and owes its dirt and moisture repellent properties to lanolin, the wool's own natural grease, which also insulates against the cold and muffles sound better than a hard floor. In the first few weeks the fibre may shed slightly, a normal trait that settles down with regular vacuuming. Because wool rugs are often hand knotted or hand woven, small irregularities and slight size variations are normal.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural plant fibre with a matte, understated look that may shed slightly in the first few weeks; this is normal and settles down with regular vacuuming. Cotton naturally absorbs a little more dirt and moisture than a synthetic rug, part of its natural character, which is also why the strong fibre is often used as a backing on other rugs.

Vacuum cleaner

You can vacuum the rug with the bristles tucked in. To protect the delicate fibers, we advise against using vacuum cleaners (stick vacuums/robot vacuums), and for flat-woven rugs, to vacuum in the direction of the weave.

Care

Vacuum twice a week with the brush retracted, this also reduces shedding on a new wool rug. Blot a spill immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth without rubbing, so dirt does not work further into the fibre. Wool dries more slowly than other materials, so avoid getting it too wet. Shake the rug out outside occasionally for a deeper clean between vacuuming.

Care

Regular vacuuming reduces shedding on a new cotton rug. Blot a spill immediately with a damp cloth: cotton absorbs moisture quickly, so a spill would otherwise work further in. Keep the rug out of direct sunlight to slow down fading. A nonslip rug underlay keeps the rug in place and extends its lifespan.

Your wool rug

On colder days

Wool holds on to warmth, which you feel most on a wooden or tiled floor.

Light shedding at first

Some loose fibre can be left over from the making, and a few rounds with the vacuum removes it.

Slow to absorb moisture

A drop sits on the surface for a moment, so dabbing is usually enough.
